Native to North America and Europe, recognized in the US National Formulary in the 1960's as a sedative remedy for nervous conditions, antispasmodic and aid for asthma. As the name implies the herbs primary Herbal therapeutic (Historical use only) use is to relieve cramps, useful for colic and also painful menstruation caused by an over-contraction of muscles.
Traditionally used to provide joint and muscle pain relief as relaxation occurs blood flow to the painful areas increases, lactic acid and other waste products removed and normal function can return.
