Neem is species of tree native to India and some African countries.

Traditionally used for the treatment of inflammation, infections, skin problems, and dental health, Upset stomach, Breathing conditions, Malaria, Worms, Head lice, Heart disease, and Diabetes.

Most of its usual medical benefits come from the leaf, although the tree in its whole is medicinal, the bark, the twigs, the roots and fruit.

Neem leaf and its constituents have been demonstrated to be immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, antihyperglycaemic, antiulcer, antimalarial, antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, antioxidant, antimutagenic and anticarcinogenic properties.

Used for cough, asthma, haemorrhoids, intestinal worms, low sperm levels, urinary disorders, and diabetes

• A note on Psoriasis: Early research suggests that taking Neem extract by mouth for 12 weeks, reduces the severity of psoriasis symptoms in people, supported by the use of other treatments.

A note on Diabetes: There is some evidence that Neem can lower blood sugar levels and might cause blood sugar to go too low. If you have diabetes and use Neem, monitor your blood sugar carefully. It might be necessary to change the dose of your diabetes medicine.

The most important active constituent in Neem is azadirachtin and the others are nimbolinin, nimbin, nimbidin, nimbidol, sodium nimbinate, gedunin, salannin, and quercetin.

“Auto-immune diseases” such as multiple sclerosis (MS), lupus (systemic lupus erythematosus, SLE), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), or other conditions: Neem might cause the immune system to become more active. This could increase the symptoms of auto-immune diseases. If you have one of these conditions, it's best to avoid using neem.

Neem also reduces fertility and sperm count in men.
