In folklore, Passionflower's name comes from the beautiful flowers said to represent the Crucifixion -5 stamens for the 5 wounds, 3 styles for the 3 nails, white and purple colors for purity, and heaven. It is a valued sedative and has mild tranquilizing properties for nervous conditions and an anti-anxiety action long used in central and north American traditions. Said to be very effective in 'calming a racing mind'

Our passion flower is warm re-percolated at 40°C in 60% alcohol to maximise the flavonoid extraction without causing degredation. The extract is then concentrated in our vacuum evaporator at 45°C to a finished 45% alcohol and stabilised with 5% vegetable glycerin and finally double filtered to 1 Micron.
