The research was done in the 1970s and this herb became popular as an anti malarial remedy due to the findings of Nobel prize winner Tu You You. The constituent Artemisinin was shown to be highly effective. It was shown to be highly effective against parasites and a strong antiviral. It has cooling properties and is used to clear heat in Chinese medicine traditionally used for conditions such as headaches, dizziness, tight chest, chronic fevers, night fevers, and the morning chill. Also traditionally used as a nosebleed remedy if caused by excess heat.

This herb differs from Artemisia absinhthium, which we stock also. (Wormwood is 'absinthium', this is annua which is Sweet Wormwood).
